¿Do you ever think about how to be successful in this century? ¿Do we need new abilities? ¿Are we or new generationss prepared to face up the digital age?
Well, in fact the world changes happen really fast and many jobs from the past don't exist anymore, and day by day we depend more and more on technological advances, so the question that all of us should ask is: ¿What is necessary to be a winner in the "new world"?
Global Digital Citizen Foundation did a list with the essential areas for students about the most important 21st century skills that students need above all others, they are:
- Problem solving
- Creativity
- Analytic thinking
- Collaboration
- Communication
- Ethics, action and accountability
Students need to solve complex problems in real time without supervision and they need to take and enjoy risks without fearing about making mistakes. Creativity is necessary to develop unique and useful solutions.
Analytic thinking includes the ability to compare, contrast, evaluate, synthesize and apply without instruction or supervision; analytical thinkers see data and information in many different dimensions, and from multiple angles. Nowadays students are social by nature and they need connection and collaboration with others for their mental and emtional health. Additionally students must be able to communicate in multiple ways using the techonology available and all of these abilities must be guided in the correct path with personal formation of them.
Now you know what you need to be successful and why these skills are important nowadays but after this information we have a new question: ¿Are we training our children and teenagers in the correct way to use their skills to go beyond it and use the technological advantages to create a better "new world"?

ResponderEliminarI think the new generations can to get some habilities in their primarys schools and high schools, but the main habilities as ethics, accountability and collaboration, can only get from theirs homes, the parents are the main and first teacher in our lifes.
